Birdsall Services Group Awarded County Renewable Energy Initiative
Region’s leading engineering firm expands energy practice for public entities
Sea Girt, NJ – September 1, 2010

Birdsall Services Group (BSG), the region’s premier engineering and consulting firm, announced that it has been selected by the Cumberland County Improvement Authority (CCIA) to serve as its Energy Consultant for the initiation of a county-wide renewable energy initiative.

Along with its strategic partner and subconsultant, Gabel Associates, the team will undertake the development and implementation of a program for the planning, design, financing, acquisition, installation, and operations and maintenance of renewable energy projects that may include solar PV, wind turbines, and hydro-electric facilities for, and on behalf of, Cumberland County and all participating government entities within Cumberland County. The Decotiis Fitzpatrick and Cole law firm was previously engaged by CCIA to provide legal services for this initiative. BSG is currently developing similar county-wide solar PV programs for Morris County, Union County, and was also recently selected by the Hudson County Improvement Authority to initiate a PV program. BSG also provides sustainable energy consulting services to Bergen County, Passaic County, Somerset County, Monmouth County, Burlington County, and Ocean County.

BSG’s sustainable energy master planning services include but are not limited to energy procurement; energy efficiency audits; renewable energy consulting and the trading of solar renewable energy credits; greenhouse gas studies; building commissioning; measurement and verification; and LEED consulting.
